Art Comes Alive!
Paintings and ship models come to life with live maritime characters from the ages.
We’re so excited to partner with the Channel Islands Maritime Museum for this year’s Art Comes Alive experience! On August 19th and 20th, from 12-4 PM, you can visit with kings and queens, rebels and artists, sailors and scientists – historic and fantasy characters, local and worldwide! See what life would have been like on board a tall ship in the 1800s with our very own schooner Mystic Whaler. Celebrate 150 years of Ventura County’s Maritime Legacy with special portrayals of local people who played important roles in Ventura County history.
On the ship, we’ll have different stations to explore what the life of a merchant mariner in the 1800s was all about. Up at the museum, you can enjoy the CIMM photo station – costumes, hats, and props for the entire family to try on and pose with!
Tickets are available on the CIMM website here.
