Privately Sponsored Sails That Support Experiential Education
Privately Sponsored Sails are a unique way for community members and members of the public to support the Mission and goals of the experiential education schooner Mystic Whaler. Funds raised from these sails go to support experiential education programs for local youth in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. By setting sail on Mystic Whaler, you help support much-needed programs that strengthen academic/STEAM comprehension and personal growth for young people.

Maximum number of passengers:
50 passengers for ½-Day and Day Sails
Mystic Whaler’s Homeport is Channel Islands Harbor, with periodic stays in Santa Barbara Harbor. If a privately sponsored sail requires the ship to be delivered to a specific harbor, there will be a $10,000.00 delivery charge.
Refreshments:
Non-alcoholic refreshments are provided on ½-Day Sails.
Non-alcoholic refreshments and meals are provided on Full Day Sails.
Alcoholic refreshments can be provided for an additional charge.
Prices do not include taxes, fees, or gratuities.

Payments & Cancellation
Privately sponsored sail deposits and full payment can be made via check, cashier’s check, or wire transfer. Credit cards may not be used for payment.
20% of the payment is due at booking unless the booking is 60 days or less before the privately sponsored sail date, in which case the full balance is due at booking.
No dates are confirmed reserved until 20% payment or the full balance has cleared the deposit. Full balance due 60 days before the date of privately sponsored sail.
For cancellations by customers 60 days or more before the date of a privately sponsored sail, CCOA will make every effort to reschedule or provide a full refund.
Cancellations by customers less than 60 days before the date of the privately sponsored sail will result in a credit toward another charter within 365 days of the original privately sponsored sail date, depending on ship availability. If another private sponsored sail does not take place within 365 days of the original private sponsored sail date or the ship is not available for alternative dates requested, then the customer forfeits full payment.
Due to US Coast Guard regulations, CCOA may be required to cancel due to weather or sea state conditions at any time, with every effort to reschedule or will refund in full.
